Tips before you go
Practical notes from operators, land managers and published sources — plus reviews written here.
Short walk, not a hike: Mountain Village Resort says all three tubs are about 550 yards (about 1/3 mile) from the lodge, usually 5-10 minutes on foot in summer and 10-15 in winter. Check in at the lodge front desk (220 Eva Falls Ave, near the junction of Idaho 21 and 75). Driving to the springs is prohibited in every season, and you may not park at Sulphur Flats or cross the Valley Creek bridge from the other side. Not wheelchair accessible. Reservations required for every tub. Osprey (up to 8, shared) is free for lodge guests and $30 for the first two non-guests; the private Bluebird and Sandhill Crane tubs (up to 10) are $50 for two plus $5 per extra person. No restrooms or showers at the springs (nearest restroom is at the restaurant). No nudity, no glass, no soaps. Source: https://www.mountainvillage.com/hot-springs/
Operator: in winter any over-snow travel to the springs is permitted; wear layers, good footwear, hats and gloves for the trek. Source: https://www.mountainvillage.com/hot-springs/
