About these terms

These terms cover your use of US Natural Hot Springs (usnaturalhotsprings.com), a free directory of natural hot springs in the United States. US Natural Hot Springs is run by Alex Duplechain, the site operator. In these terms “we” and “us” mean US Natural Hot Springs and Alex Duplechain as its operator. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

Information only

The site publishes general information about hot springs: location, road and trail access, water temperature, cost, clothing policy, amenities and visitor reports. It is for planning and research only. It is not professional, medical, legal or safety advice, and it is not an official source for any land manager, park or business.

How listings are sourced, and their limits

Listings are compiled from government survey data, public business listings, operators’ own websites, OpenStreetMap and visitor reviews. Every attribute shows the source that supports it. Attributes nothing confirms are labelled Unverified, and you should treat them as unknown, not as fact. Our method is explained on the about page.

Conditions change faster than any directory can track. Roads wash out, gates close for the season, springs close, prices and hours change, and rules on clothing, camping and access change without notice. Always check with the operator or the managing land agency before you travel.

Safety and assumption of risk

Hot springs carry real risk. Water can be hot enough to scald, and temperatures change with the season and from one pool to the next. Some springs can harbour harmful organisms. Do not put your head under the water. Access roads can need high clearance or become impassable, trails can be remote with no phone signal, and geothermal features in national parks can kill. Alcohol, heat and slippery rock do not mix.

You are responsible for judging conditions yourself, for your own safety and the safety of anyone with you, and for deciding whether to visit at all. Your use of any information on this site, and any visit you make, is at your own risk.

Access, permits and local rules

A spring being on this site does not mean it is legal, open or safe to visit. Some are on private land, some need permits, reservations or fees, and some are closed. Follow posted rules, land-manager regulations, and local laws, including laws on nudity, camping, fires and parking. Respect closures and private property.

We do not take bookings

We do not sell soaking passes, lodging, campsites, tours or products, and we do not take payments or reservations. Booking, lodging and shopping links and embedded lodging maps take you to, or show results from, other companies. Any booking or purchase is between you and that company, under its own terms, prices and cancellation policies. We are not responsible for their services, availability or content.

Affiliate links and advertising

Some links on this site are affiliate links, and we earn a commission if you book or buy through them. This comes at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. The site also shows ads served by Google AdSense. Commissions and ads never influence which springs are listed, how they are ranked, or the evidence shown for them. Links to other websites are for convenience, and we do not control or endorse those sites. Details are on the affiliate disclosure page.

Accounts

You do not need an account to use the site. An account lets you sync saved springs across devices, post reviews, mark reviews as helpful and claim a listing. Give us an email address you control, and keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity on your account. Your display name is public, so pick one that does not impersonate anyone or mislead people. You can stop using your account at any time and ask us to delete it by emailing alex@usnaturalhotsprings.com. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.

Reviews, condition reports, photos and claims

You can send us reviews, condition reports, photos, listing claims and corrections (“submissions”). By sending a submission, you confirm that:

• it is honest and based on your own experience or knowledge;
• you took any photo yourself or otherwise have the right to share it;
• it does not include other people’s personal information, or identifiable images of people without their permission;
• it is not unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, spam, advertising, or a fake or paid-for review;
• if you claim a listing, you are authorised to act for that business, and the details you give are true.

You keep ownership of your submissions. You give US Natural Hot Springs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, host, store, reproduce, edit for length or clarity, publish, display and distribute them, with the credit shown on the site, in connection with running and promoting the directory. We may also use the facts in a submission to update a listing.

We review submissions before publishing them, and we may decline, edit or remove any submission at our discretion. Publishing a submission does not mean we endorse it. If you think something on the site is wrong, or infringes your rights, email alex@usnaturalhotsprings.com and we will look at it.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the site. For example, do not try to break or overload it, get around rate limits or security, access accounts or data that are not yours, send automated submissions, or use the site to break the law. Data we publish under an open licence, such as the road access report, can be reused under that licence’s terms. The rest of the site’s original text, design and compilation belongs to US Natural Hot Springs. Photos and quoted reviews belong to their owners and are credited where shown.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that any listing is accurate, complete, current, open, safe or legal to access, or that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, US Natural Hot Springs and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss or damage that results from visiting a hot spring, relying on information on the site, or dealing with a third party you found through it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the most the law allows. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site, are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any such dispute will be heard in the courts located in Washington.

Changes

We may change the site, or these terms, at any time. When we change the terms we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
