In Teton County, Wyoming, Grand Prismatic Spring is a short way off Grand Loop Road — under a quarter mile. Treated here as an undeveloped backcountry pool; nothing on file corroborates that label. NOAA's vent measurement of 199°F sits in the scalding band. Access is priced as free and the amenities list is empty in our data. Clothing policy: unverified in the sources we hold.

Tips before you go

Practical notes from operators, land managers and published sources — plus reviews written here.

Beautiful and sooo big, but the wait to find the parking spot is terrible.

There should be someone directing people where are the empty spaces (there were many parking spots but people were still waiting).

Because it is such a huge tourist hotspot, crowds are heavy and parking gets extremely tight, so plan to get there very early.
