Jemez Springs, New Mexico4.4 (18 reviews on Google)
San Antonio Hot Springs, in Jemez Springs, New Mexico, is within a quarter mile of a road a car can reach — filed as sedan / 2wd. No resort build-out here — an undeveloped backcountry pool on the operator's own site. NOAA lists 129°F at the vent here — a scalding reading above 110°F. Access is priced as free and the amenities list is empty in our data. Clothing optional is the rule in visitor reviews.

Tips before you go
Practical notes from operators, land managers and published sources — plus reviews written here.
From NM-126 about 3.8 mi west of La Cueva, turn onto unpaved FR 376 for about 4.5–5 mi to the gate, walk the road about 0.5 mi, cross San Antonio Creek, then climb a very steep, exposed 0.7-mi trail. FR 376 gets slick or impassable after rain, and guides disagree on whether 2WD is enough. Seasonal closure: FR 376 is closed to motor vehicles from winter snow (the 2026 closure began January 2) through July 1 for wildlife. When it is gated, the springs are about 5 mi each way on foot, bike or skis. Day use only: no camping, fires or overnight visits. Free, no permit; no restrooms or potable water. Clothing-optional by custom. Sources: ABQ Journal (above); https://www.hotspringsguides.com/hot-springs/san-antonio-hot-springs-new-mexico
